The Course
Experiental learning will make the course more effective for students and more useful for their employers. The travel modules for the course will be to the US, Europe, Japan and China. Future courses may include different centres and different destinations, in response to changing market issues.
The course is very intensive, with an initial module reviewing key concepts of marketing and supply chain management, common themes and areas of difference across sectors. Presenters for this module are key academics in these areas, along with invited experts from industry.
The whole course provides an opportunity for professional development within a group of peers with presentations from internationally recognised academics and elite business leaders, and first hand exposure to best practices in a wide range of countries.
The participants will develop their knowledge of overseas markets and customers’ needs through contact with international markets and international executives, visits to production, processing and retail sites, and observing competitor offerings and supply chain best practice.
They will build on their knowledge of practices and trends in food and agribusiness, as well as building personal networks, which will assist the development of New Zealand agribusiness and global markets.
